An announcement was made today (Friday) that a major project is to get underway for the complete restoration of Kisimul Castle. Being funded by American historians, this restoration project will result in the Castle being dismantled stone by stone and shipped to the States where efforts will be made to re assemble it to the original 13th Century plan, copy it then ship the fully restored castle back to Barra (in numbered crates) for re assembly on site in Barra.
