Kisimul Cafe

Licensed Café / Restaurant situated at the bottom of the street overlooking the bay and Kisimul Castle. A family run establishment specialising in tasty Indian and Italian cuisine Café Kisimul was recently shortisted for Visit Scotland`s Taste of The Hebrides Competition. Opening times vary, Takeaways available. Bookings are recommended.
 

The Deck

The Deck offers breathtaking uninterrupted views of the bay and Barra’s world-renowned castle in the sea. Sitting at the water’s edge is perfect place to relax and enjoy our award - winning Scottish gourmet food, which is available in the summer season. A mouth-watering selection of Scotland’s finest cheeses, pates, smoked meats and seafood are served on fresh Hebridean bread and oatcakes accompanied with locally grown organic salads. The Deck is perfect location to spend a lazy afternoon taking in the ever-changing Hebridean panoramas.

The Thistle Café

Located opposite Castlebay Secondary School The Thistle Café has a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. Teas, coffees, snacks are also available as are a selection of hot /cold filled rolls. Takeaways are available.

Airport Café

As the name suggests the café is situated within the world famous Barra Airport where the plane lands twice a day on the beach. This is only airport in the world where a scheduled flight actually lands on the beach.  The Café has a breakfast and lunch menu and a selection of hot / cold filled rolls and Panini’s are also available. You can relax and enjoy the plane landing with a tea, coffee, water, juice or an alcoholic refreshment.

Ardmhor Café

The Café is located at the Ardmhor Ferry Terminal overlooking the Sound of Barra. You can enjoy a breakfast or lunchtime menu as well as a selection of hot / cold filled rolls and snacks and refreshments while you watch the otters.

The Heritage Café

Located in the Heritage Centre beside Castlebay School. Here you can enjoy a selection of hot / cold filled rolls as well as fresh home baking with your tea/coffee after you have toured the centre and brushed up on Barra history.
