Clean skies, open Roads and Empty Beaches

Sandray ( Gaelic: Sanndraigh) is one of the Bishops Isles. It never had a large population, and has been uninhabited since 1934 apart from its large seabird colony that resides there. It is located between Vatersay to the north and Pabbay to the south, 3 miles (5 km) south of Barra. Separated from Vatersay by the Sound of Sandray, the island has an area of 400 ha (988 acres) and has a highest point of 207m (679 feet) at Cairn Galtair. In 1991 a team of Archaeologicalists from Sheffield University uncovered Neolithical settlements and tombs that show that Sandray has had a long history..
It now used by Vatersay township as common grazing for the sheep.
